The Beast
Artist: Martin Lisius
A violent, tornadic supercell near Callaway, Nebraska approaches, June 8, 2020. From this spot, the wind was calm at first, then blasted from the east at about 40 mph (inflow), then from the west at about 30 mph (rear flank downdraft), all within 5 minutes. Thus is the dynamic wind field of a storm like this one. Sony a7R III, Sony 24-105 f/4.
