Chaotic Sky – Rapid City, South Dakota - June 1, 2015

The obvious place to be on this day was just east of the Black Hills near Rapid City, South Dakota. I dreaded the increased traffic created by all the storm chasers and early vacationers that would be in this region and opted to view the storms far from the crowds instead. I captured this unique view of the "backside" of a severe thunderstorm as it formed over the Black Hills. It put on quite a show with this chaotic cloud scene as I looked south over the rolling prairie grasslands.
