There are many stunning views from the Island in the Sky District in Canyonlands National Park, which is located near Moab Utah. The Green River Overlook is considered by many to be the finest. I waited patiently for the sun to set in order to achieve the "magic light" conditions rather than shoot my images during harsh light of mid-day. Only in this soft late day light can the surreal colors of the Soda Springs Basin reveal themselves above the Green River as it cuts a meandering path deep through the pit of the canyon.
